David Simon
David Simon has been an influential player in the homebuilding industry since 1982. In 2023, he led the merger between Veridian Homes, Dave Jones, Auburn Ridge, and Marshall Towne Building Supply, creating Forgewell Building Group. As Chairman of Forgewell Building Group, David is responsible for strategic planning and management of a collection of award-winning businesses.
Under his ownership and leadership, David has successfully turned Veridian Homes into an award-winning industry leader. Veridian Homes has been recognized for its best practices with three National Housing Quality (NHQ) Gold Awards. Builder of the Year from Professional Builder magazine, US Energy Value Builder of the Year, NHQ Gold Award and a NHQ Silver Award, sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
David has had the honor of serving on the NAHB Research Center’s National Housing Quality Advisory Council. In 2017, he was inducted into the National Housing Quality Award Hall of Fame. In June 2003, David was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Wisconsin award for construction, real estate, and hospitality.
Greg Jones
Greg Jones is the Chief Executive Officer of Forgewell Building Group and provides overall leadership and strategy to Forgewell and its operating companies.
Prior to this role, Greg was the former Chief Executive Officer of Dave Jones, Inc. with 20+ years of experience in the company. Greg has worked in all aspects of the company including as an Apprentice, Plumber, Project Manager, and General Manager. Greg currently holds his license as a Master Plumber in multiple states and has a degree in Business Administration from Edgewood College.
Greg’s success can be attributed to his calm and collected approach towards running a company that puts people, values, and culture first. During his time with Dave Jones, the company has grown organically and through acquisitions from a team of 20 to over 600. Greg is also on the Board of Directors of Lake Ridge Bank and has served in leadership roles in organizations such as the Associated Builders & Contractor’s of WI (ABC WI), the Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors of WI (PHCC WI), Habitat for Humanity, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Greg also received In Business Magazine’s 40 Under 40 which celebrates the success of rising young business stars in the Madison area.
Greg enjoys hunting, golfing, flying, and spending time with his family at their home in Manitowish Waters.
Karen Simon Dreyer
Karen Simon Dreyer is the Accounts Payable and Payroll Manager at Veridian Homes. She is responsible for managing the financial processing of transactions within the company. This includes managing weekly accounts payable runs, ensuring timely payment of invoices, and overseeing the payroll process.
Karen is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and has been an integral part of Veridian Homes since 1985, making her one of the company’s earliest employees. Throughout her 38-year tenure, she has taken on various roles and responsibilities, gaining extensive knowledge and expertise in homebuilding. Her commitment to continuous improvement has driven her to focus on refining and optimizing different processes within the company.
Karen enjoys spending quality time with family and has a passion for traveling.
Holly Jones
Holly Jones is the Chief Culture Officer at Dave Jones and joined the company in 2002. With over 20 years of experience, Holly’s passion is working alongside the team focusing on alignment with the company’s core values throughout the organization. Her leadership responsibilities include Safety, Marketing, HR and Training and Development at Dave Jones.
Holly enjoys spending time with family, friends, and the great outdoors.
Nick Allen
Nick Allen is Controller at Dave Jones and oversees the finance and IT functions of the company. In his role, he is responsible for financial reporting and compliance, as well as FP&A and achievement of technology initiatives. He works closely with segment leaders throughout the company to manage financial performance and ultimately achieve financial objectives.
Nick has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and Master of Professional Accountancy. He began his career in public accounting, spending five years providing clients with audit & attest services. He joined Dave Jones in 2017.
In his free time, Nick enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the outdoors.
Shawn Arnold
Shawn Arnold is the President of Marshall Towne Millwork (Auburn Ridge and Marshall Towne Building Supply) and guides and directs the company’s Leadership team. With a strong commitment to building relationships and a focus on executing strategic initiatives, Shawn is dedicated to achieving the company’s financial and operational objectives.
Shawn joined Marshall Towne Millwork in 1988, and over the years, he has gained comprehensive expertise by working in nearly every position within the company. Promoted to President in 2009, his extensive hands-on experience and deep knowledge of the organization and industry have been instrumental in contributing to its growth and overall success.
Shawn is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys spending time with his family and grandson.
Tyler Bahr
Tyler Bahr is the Operations Manager at Marshall Towne Millwork LLC and has been with the team since fall of 2022. With a strong background in fast-paced manufacturing and production environments, Tyler brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his current position. He strives to optimize operations and drive efficiencies within the company. Tyler is also dedicated to building strong relationships with both team members and customers. His commitment to maintaining a strong customer focus ensures that Marshall Towne Millwork meets and exceeds customer expectations.
Outside of work, Tyler enjoys spending time outdoors and cherishing moments with family and friends. His passion for nature and personal connections balances his professional life, making him a well-rounded and dedicated individual.
Bill Bublitz
Bill Bublitz is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Forgewell Building Group. He is responsible for providing strategic direction and ensuring the successful execution of a profitable growth strategy, as well as leadership to the senior leaders of finance for Dave Jones, Marshall Towne Millwork and Veridian Homes. He plays an instrumental role in overseeing and managing relationships with external partners, including shareholders, banks, investors, and other financial institutions. Bill previously served as Vice President of Finance at Veridian Homes, and its sister company, Marshall Towne Millwork, for the last 23 years. He joined Forgewell Building Group in 2023.
As a certified public accountant (CPA) with a career spanning over 36 years, Bill brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. After gaining valuable knowledge and honing his skills in financial management and accounting at Price Waterhouse Coopers, one of the world’s largest accounting firms, he took the entrepreneurial path and established his own accounting firm. Additionally, Bill has served as President of the Quality Fabricators Group, LLC.
A former high school athlete, Bill enjoys playing and watching sports along with biking and boating with his wife and spending time with his family.
Boone Cates
Boone Cates is the Director of Construction at Associated Housewrights, where he plays a crucial role in coordinating the production schedule and assisting with the training of Project Managers and Carpenters. His responsibilities extend to financial oversight of projects and contributing to strategic planning efforts to ensure objectives are met. Boone is a strong advocate for a team-oriented approach, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and exceptional customer service.
With over 15 years of experience in residential construction, Boone has worn many hats in the industry. He holds a Construction Management degree from Colorado State University.
Beyond his professional life, Boone enjoys spending time outdoors, playing rec sports, and being with his friends and family.
Matt Cudney
Matt Cudney is the Vice President of Operations – Milwaukee at Veridian Homes. He has played an instrumental role in expanding the company’s market share in the Milwaukee area since joining the team in 2013. He is involved in the entire process, from identifying suitable land for new developments to overseeing the transformation of those lands into vibrant neighborhoods.
Matt has been working in real estate development for more than 30 years and has worked for regional and national homebuilders. He is an active participant on the Architectural Design Team, contributing his insights and expertise to the design process. Furthermore, he chairs the Veridian Homes Foundation, overseeing the company’s philanthropic efforts and community engagement.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time outdoors boating, hiking, skiing, and supporting his beloved Oregon Ducks.
April Dichraff
April Dichraff is the Chief Integration Officer (CIO) of Forgewell Building Group. In this multifaceted role, April drives the organization’s strategic initiatives. She is entrusted with implementing integrated shared services, leading the analysis and execution of merger and acquisition opportunities, and providing leadership to the senior leaders of human resources and information technology for Dave Jones, Marshall Towne Millwork and Veridian Homes. April previously served as the Vice President of Operations – Madison at Veridian Homes, and its sister company, Marshall Towne Millwork, for the last 19 years. She joined Forgewell Building Group in 2024.
With over 25 years of operational expertise, April plays a pivotal role in translating strategic business plans into actionable operational plans, ensuring the seamless execution of the company’s overall objectives. Additionally, April has served as an examiner for the National Housing Quality Award. She is committed to sharing industry best practices that yield tangible business results as well as championing and implementing quality initiatives.
Outside of work, April enjoys engaging in outdoor activities and spending time with her family and dog.
Chris Ehlers
Chris Ehlers is the President of Veridian Homes. Chris plays a critical role in ensuring that the company’s operations align with its overall vision and strategy. With his passion for homebuilding and extensive cross-functional experience, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to the industry.
Chris’s interest in homebuilding was influenced by his father, who was a nationally recognized homebuilder. Over the course of his career spanning more than two decades, he has worked closely with both national and local builders, gaining a deep understanding of the intricacies of the industry. Before being promoted to COO in 2021, Chris utilized his expertise to acquire and develop land for Veridian Homes. His efforts have contributed to the establishment of thriving communities across Dane County and beyond. He joined Veridian Homes in 2018.
Chris is actively involved in his local community, serving on local school boards and coaching youth sports.
Ryan Hanna
Ryan Hanna is the Executive Vice President of Construction at Dave Jones where he has been an integral part of the company since 2004. In this role, Ryan oversees aspects of business development, supplier relations, as well as sales and expense forecasting. He also provides leadership to the new construction teams located in Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio markets, as well as the Quality Assurance team.
With over 18 years of experience in the construction industry, Ryan is committed to excellence in all that he does. He has a deep understanding of the trades and is dedicated to delivering high-quality work that exceeds customer expectations.
In his personal life, Ryan is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping, hunting and spending time at his family cabin.
Kevin Hineline
Kevin Hineline is the Executive Vice President of Business Development at Dave Jones. He has been an instrumental part of the company’s growth and success since joining the team in 2004.
In his role, Kevin is responsible for overseeing the acquisition of new customers and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. He works closely with the residential and commercial teams at Dave Jone to develop strategies for improving customer service and expanding the company’s reach.
In his free time, Kevin enjoys time with his family, traveling, and pursuing his interests in the outdoors.
John Maasch
John Maasch is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Veridian Homes. With his extensive experience and expertise, he plays a vital role in the company’s success by integrating sales and marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with the overall business plan, and leading efforts to achieve sales and marketing targets.
In his role, John is responsible for developing and executing effective sales and marketing programs. He works closely with his team to conceptualize strategies that enhance the company’s brand presence, attract customers, and drive sales growth. He joined Veridian Homes in 2001.
John is an active member of his community, where he volunteers at his local fire department. Additionally, he is an avid golfer, and enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their large family.
Steve Oleson
Steve Oleson is the President of Associated Housewrights. His career has spanned diverse roles, from hands-on site work to materials distribution, providing him with a broad perspective and strong problem-solving abilities. Steve's proactive 'can-do' attitude has been the cornerstone of his success, whether he is swinging a hammer, overseeing projects, or collaborating with his team.
Before embarking on his career in the building trades, Steve pursued General Studies at Luther College and continued his education at UW Stout in the School of Industrial Technology, both of which contributed to the foundation of his current endeavors.
Steve joined Associated Housewrights in the summer of 2015 as a Project Manager, excelling in estimating and overseeing various client projects, including remodels and new home builds. He later became a Production Manager, overseeing sales and in-house design. Steve is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and recognizes the significance of each project in enhancing and personalizing a client's home.
Outside of work, Steve values quality time with his family and enjoys camping, golfing, and playing the guitar.
Heather Schommer
Heather Schommer is the President of Dave Jones and provides overall leadership to the Executive and Leadership teams of the company. She is focused on driving strategic initiatives and ensuring that the company achieves its financial and operational goals.
Prior to joining Dave Jones in 2019, she spent much of her career in financial and consultative roles, working with management teams across various industries to streamline operations and drive focus on the most impactful areas of a business. In her current role, these skills are critical to effectively leading the company and aligning the organization across all segments and regions.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys being on the water and spending time at their family cabin in Northern Wisconsin.
Erik Schuchardt
Erik Schuchardt is the Director of Finance at Veridian Homes. In this role, he is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. He works closely with executive leadership to outline company goals and oversee the company’s long-term financial health.
Erik is a certified public accountant (CPA) with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in Accounting and a master’s degree in professional accountancy. His career spans over 20 years, with significant experience in public accounting at a top ten advisory tax and assurance firm before joining Veridian Homes.
Outside of work, Erik enjoys spending time with his family and is actively involved in his local community. He serves on a non-profit board and coaches youth softball.
Mitchell Waterworth
Mitchell Waterworth is the Human Resources Manager at Marshall Towne Millwork, overseeing all aspects of the HR field. In this role, he is responsible for talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws. Mitchell works closely with team leaders throughout the company to ensure a positive work environment and achieve organizational objectives.
Mitchell graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a degree in Human Resources Management. He began his career in HR and brought valuable expertise and dedication to Marshall Towne Millwork when he joined the company in 2019.
In his free time, Mitchell enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, hunting, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
